I've NEVER liked our stairway banister. The spindles are too far apart to meet code, and...well, i'm not really a spindle kind of girl anyway. When we got our crib for maegan i didn't want the kind w/ the frilly spindles. i wanted the one w/ FLAT spindles, but i couldn't find one (until one day when a friend told me her mom had rescued said crib from the TRASH and it was in her garage for the taking. yay!) I digress...
stairway...so. I've tried different things just for safety: clear plastic (it ripped and always had finger prints all over it), netting (it ripped, and i HATE the look of it)
Well. NOW i have decided that I'm done w/ those spindles and temporary fixes and I'm going to just board.it.up. YES. you heard me right. I'm going to buy some 2x4's, paint them white and HAMMER those puppies to my stairway banister.
Here is my inspiration.

Now, I just have to get over my sinus infection, and bronchitis, so I can get to work.
What do you think?
This started as a place for me to write the goings on of my heart on our journey to adopt 2 children from Ethiopia...and morphed into a journal of our lives as a family of 6... We continue to expect great things from The Author of our story. "Pure and lasting religion in the sight of the Lord is this: to take care of the orphans and the widows in their distress, and to not be corrupted by the world." James 1:27

Can't wait to see how that comes out. I'm like you, don't like those frilly spindles either. I can't really picture what that's going to look like, but I'm sure you can, and that's all that matters!
Hope you feel better soon! Don't forget to take care of yourself along with the million other things you're doing!
