A word from Jenn

Dear friends and supporters of From HIV to Home,

With World AIDS Orphans Day (May 7) just around the corner, we'd like to introduce you to one of our amazing orphan care partners!

Lola Children's Home is an orphanage for HIV-affected children in Mekele, Ethiopia - and they have just celebrated their first anniversary!

In the past year, Lola has started three support programs: resident, day care and family sponsorship - serving the needs of dozens of children.  With your help, Lola will grow to serve even more children and families in the region and will not only provide a safe and loving place for orphans and children affected by HIV, but will also be able to provide outreach and support to mothers and families.

To celebrate Lola's very first year, we are giving away this beautiful quilt (*) sewn by one of Lola’s supporters.

We are also giving away several additional items - two Starbucks Jonathan Adler limited edition (Red) travel mugs, a Starbucks (Red) gift card, and our very last "embrace" necklace!  That means that for every entry, you have five chances to win!

To participate in the giveaway, simply visit our donation page at Network for Good to make a donation to our Lola fund.  100% of donations to this fund go directly to the work of Lola Children's Home.  $5 is worth one entry (so $50 is ten entries!).  Please be sure to note "Lola" in the designation box of your giving form and include your email address so we contact you if you are a winner.

Since Lola is a new organization, they depend hugely on word of mouth. If you share this info on your blog or website together with a link to our donor page, email me (jennifer@fromhivtohome.org) with the web address for your post, and we will give you a free raffle entry!

Drawing will be held on May 7 - World AIDS Orphans Day. To learn more about Lola Children's Home, please visit their website at www.lolachildrensfund.org

Blessings,
Jennifer Isaac, From HIV to Home

* about the quilt - Kari Nichols is a nationally known quilt designer for Mountainpeek Creations. Her patterns can be seen in stores across the country as well as in magazines and catalogs familiar to quilters.  Peeks and Valleys was designed for a fabric company and has been seen at the International Quilt Market. The wonderful fabrics show off the "peeks" very nicely. Exquisite quilting by Pam Cosgrove enhances the pattern.  Kari says that she "believes that each quilt has a forever home somewhere, as quilts are chosen with the heart and made with the hands. I'm sure this quilt will find it's home while helping to create a home for a wonderful child in Ethiopia.  Not everyone can adopt a child, but I can do my part to help the people that can.  My blessings to all who care so much for these children."  Thank you Kari!!
